DALLAS, TX – Muslim Culture Con is a 501c3 non-profit organization curated by a board of national Muslim young adults ages 18-35. Over the past year, we have undergone a process to transition to a full-fledged non-profit entity, and we are excited to share our latest update.

MCC’s First Annual Board Retreat, October 2023 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Muslim Culture Con (MCC) continues the efforts of the generational leaders in our community who came before us to establish a national platform for Muslim young adults. Our goal is to create an environment that organizes and implements activities and services that dignify the skills, talents, and contributions of young adults. We strive to provide morally based life alternatives to muslim young adults who face societal challenges and help young adults foster a sense of identity and purpose so that young Muslims can resist societal pressures and work toward a better future.

MCC is committed to strengthening, nurturing, and supporting the life skills of young adults. Our mission is to prepare young adult Muslims for individual and collective success. We provide the necessary space and life skills to cultivate community responsibly, in alignment with Imam W. Deen Mohammad’s vision for model Muslim American community life.

Our Vision for Muslim Culture Con will be a community where young adult Muslims have a voice and play an active part in the Model Muslim American Community that was envisioned by Imam Warith Deen Mohammed. Here, young adult Muslims can build upon healthy connections and improve both their quality of life and the quality of life in their Muslim communities.

Muslim Culture Con has created dynamic spaces that foster a stronger community among Muslim African American young adults through connecting, engaging, learning, and culturally expressing who we are. We encourage these young adults to achieve the best they can, become God-conscious individuals, and take an active role in working for Islam in the community.

We stress the importance of knowing, understanding, and fulfilling our individual and collective obligations as Muslims.

Through initiatives like virtual community check-ins, partnerships with established organizations, and Ramadan sessions, MCC has made significant strides in nurturing community connections and providing leadership opportunities for young adult Muslims.

That said, we are excited that, Insha’Allah, we are preparing to host our first annual young adult retreat, October 25-27, 2024 in Dallas, TX. Themed “Destined for Prosperity: Using Our Legacy to Cultivate a Garden of Excellence”, the retreat will take place at Ascend Camp, a Muslim-owned retreat facility.

This theme encourages young adults to recognize their potential for prosperity, draw from their legacy, and strive for excellence in all areas of life. By doing so, they can contribute to a better future for themselves and their communities. We have an exciting lineup of speakers.

With this theme in mind, we invite young adult Muslims to reflect on the legacy of the African American Muslims in this country and then ask ourselves how we are utilizing that legacy to work toward the joy – the paradise – that Allah (SWT) promises to His servants. How are we using the tools our Pioneers have left for us, especially when it comes to our Deen and community, to create and continue our Shared Freedom Space for further cultivation and growth?

This is the opportunity for young adult Muslims nationally aged 18-35 to experience a unique opportunity to get away and immerse themselves in a Muslim environment, where Muslim Culture Con aims to make this retreat our collective opportunity to connect, grow, learn, and flourish.

Inspired by Imam Warith Deen Mohammed’s vision and legacy, we aim to cultivate a model Muslim American community that embodies excellence and compassion. This retreat is a testament to his teachings and our commitment to shaping a bright future.

Some of the retreat session highlights will include:

– Who Are We and Where Do We Come From?

– Why Did Allah (swt) Put Me Here?

– Paradise As The Final Destination

– Where Do We Go From Here?

This retreat is not just an event; it’s a transformative journey tailored to equip you with the skills and mindset needed to thrive personally and contribute meaningfully to community life. We are inviting young adult Muslims to be part of this empowering experience! Spread the word among your friends and family. Help us reach young adults who share our vision of a vibrant, inclusive Muslim community in America. Together, let’s build bridges and strengthen our collective voice.

At Muslim Culture Con, we recognize that our youth are the heartbeat of our community. We are an extension of you. This retreat is an investment in their growth and leadership. Together let’s nurture the rising stars who will carry forward Imam Warith Deen Mohammed’s legacy with grace and determination.

As we embark on this journey, let us seek Allah’s (SWT) mercy and guidance. As in the Holy Qur’an, Suratul Al-Kahf (18:10), just as the youths in the cave sought His blessings and right guidance, may we be guided by His mercy, protection, wisdom and grace.

If you know a young adult between the ages of 18-35 who would be interested in attending the retreat, please visit our Registration page on our website: www.muslimculturecon.com or bit.ly/RetreatRegistrationMCC

Additionally, we are seeking sponsors and monetary donations, this will help us to cover the cost of the retreat and can also help young adults with fees for registration, travel, or attending the retreat. If you would like to support this initiative, please email us at: fundraisercoordinator@muslimculturecon.com. Thank you and May Allah reward you.
