Our dear Brother Imam, Hassan Sharif returned to Allah. He was tragically shot and killed outside in the parking lot of Masjid Muhammad – Newark this morning, Wednesday, January 4, 2024, as he was opening up for Fajr Salaat (Morning Prayer).

He was taken a block away to University Hospital where he underwent critical surgery, he succumbed to the injuries in the early afternoon.

Muslim Journal is saddened to hear of this senseless crime. We asked that you keep his family and the Masjid Muhammad, Newark community in your duas (supplications) and prayers.
